Anissaras – Basic information

Anissaras is a pleasantly quiet large area located 24 km east of Heraklion and 1 km west of Hersonissos. You can easily reach it by yourself drive from the New National road starting from our rental agency at Heraklion airport. The area of Anissaras is full with large hotels for all-inclusive holidays. It is a place for a quieter vacation.There are no bars and nightlife outside of the hotels, only a very few tavernas, some minimarkets and shops. In front of the hotels, there are small sandy beaches with rocky seabed.

Everything else you might need is available in neighbouring Hersonissos, There is no bus service within the area of Anissaras and most of the time it is a good idea hiring a car. Car rental in Anissaras

In the eastern point of Anissaras there is a pretty walk to Sarandaris area with the small chapel of St.George and a spectacular views to Hersonissos. There are two ways to get there, either by walk or by a rental car on the road that connects Anisaras with Hersonissos.

Most of the shoreline in Anissaras is rocky but there are still some man-made sandy beaches, in front of the large hotels.

Some of these beaches have snack bars, facilities for various water sports, scuba diving and snorkelling.

There is no bus transfer to Milatos and the only way to reach there and explore is a car rental.
