West Crete (Arkadi – Chania – Rethymnon)

Come with us and test the West of Crete! Our first attraction is the monastery of Arkadi, which was built in the 16th century. It is a national sanctuary and a symbol of freedom, which used to be a refuge for many Cretans, especially women and children. Our next stop is Chania, the biggest of town of West Crete. It has a lot of Venetian and Turkish monuments and buildings with minarets. Especially the famous market of Chania which has a cross shape and the Venetian harbour are worthwhile visiting! We will have lunch in Chania. On our way back, we also visit Rethymnon. This town has kept most of its medieval character compared to other places in Crete. It is a beautiful town with many cozy streets and also many Venetian monuments. The palm trees make it look very oriental. This is a good chance to visit the West of Crete!
